AMERICA TURN BACK TO GOD
![]() |
| Cracked part of the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. |
The memory of the last natural calamities in the east coast is still very fresh in our minds. The earthquake aftershock was felt from the state of Virginia through New York to far away Canada. Leaving a crack at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC and the George Washington monument. The effect of hurricane Irene is not in anyway palatable. I certainly can testify to that. In my neighborhood alone, over 500,000 Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) costumers including my family, was without power for some days. Irene knocked down a big tree from my neighbor's yard right through my compound, pulling down power cable, telephone and cable wires. The sound of the boisterous wind was like a jumbo Boeing 747 crashing into my house. I remember the fear I saw in Isoken, my daughter's face that night. I had to "sweet talk" my daughter and her friends to go back to bed that all is well. Indeed, all is well.
Some family had to sleep in the dark for almost one week. MTA, the nation's largest mass transit system was completely shut down, patients in some New York City hospitals, nursing homes and adult care facilities were evacuated. Hurricane Irene caused a considerable destruction and at least 55 deaths. About $10 - 15 billions is the estimated loss.

My friends, God is speaking to America! America turn back to God our only creator. He is the only One that has the solution to the problems of the World.
I hear the voice of the Lord saying, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land"
May those who have ears hear what the spirit is saying.
Please join us in a 21 days prayer and fasting (September 4th - 24th) as we pray for America.

A SURGEON IN USA DISCOVERS THE POWER OF PRAYER!

The patient was Dr. David Levy, a neurosurgeon in San Diego. After a brief incident in the dentist chair, something began to stir in his heart. God began to prompt him to pray for his patients, just as the dentist had done.
Trouble was, he just could not get up the nerve to actually do it. How do you begin? How do you lead up to a topic like prayer? Medical School did not have classes on the subject. Although he felt the urge to pray, he also realized this was way out of his comfort zone.
And so began a journey - hesitant and awkward at first – of probing beyond the physical into his patients’ spiritual needs. The results astounded him. His patients didn’t laugh or get angry. On the contrary, they were appreciative. Many cried and thanked him.
In his recently published book, “Gray Matter: A Neurosurgeon Discovers the Power of Prayer . . . One Patient at a Time”, Dr. David recounts his first awkward moments of introducing prayer into his practice. After a while, it became easier.
Now, when seeing a patient in his office, after initial examination and discussions are done, he closes the visit by saying, “It is my practice to pray with patients. Would you mind if I pray with you?”
Although responses vary, many patients are grateful, especially when their surgeon prays for them just before surgery.
Although self-conscious of other personnel around him at first, soon he also began praying with his surgical team before a procedure.
After a while, praying with patients, family members, and his own surgical staff became routine.
Then, something interesting happened. One day, Dr. David was led to ask a troubled patient if there was anything in her life that was bothering her, some unfinished business. Suddenly, the atmosphere in the room changed as she broke down and, sobbing, related some serious family problems. There were hurts, unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment. After some discussion, the doctor gently led her through a prayer of forgiveness and repentance. It was a life-changing experience for both of them.
Today, Dr. David frequently pursues this line of questioning when seeing patients. Many times countenances light up, peace replaces tension and physical symptoms improve.
“Forgiveness,” he explains to his patients, “is not pretending evil never happened, and it is not calling evil good. Forgiveness is setting yourself free by not giving others the power to hurt you again every time you think about them. It is the best way I know to help your body continue to heal.”
The Church is not anti-government, neither is prayer a fetish or superstitious thing rather prayer is a way of connecting to our creator just as a child communicate with the father. America needs prayers, it is stated in the Bible 2 book of Chronicles chapter 7 verse 14 "If my people, which are called by name .... shall pray.." we need prayer in our schools, the whole world needs prayer. Let us start praying for all our leaders, family, business and church organizations. We need God to heal our land. God bless America.

DEVELOPING NATIONS NEEDS INVESTMENT AND NOT CHARITY - BAN K-MOON

A measure of any society is how well it looks after its least fortunate.
The same is true of the international community.
Now is not the time to turn our backs, but to increase our support.
The past two decades saw spectacular progress among emerging economies.
The LDCs are poised to be the next wave of development achievement.
Let me emphasize again, ladies and gentlemen: I am not arguing for charity, but investment.
The returns can be profound – not just for the people living in LDCs, but for all people -- for the global economy.
Success for the LDCs is ultimately success for all.
Let us try our best to make this world harmonious, balanced, and better for all.

WE GIVE THANKS
How thankful are we really are? Instead of complaining and murmuring, we should be thankful for everything. We should be thankful for people whom God positioned on our path to help us to midwife our miracles. Anxiety, worries, ungratefulness and lack of faith are part of the tools in the enemy's arsenal to to keep us from seeing the bigness of our God. We worry about the economy, we worry about our marriage/relationships, job, our finance, our health and even our look.
Pause a moment and look around you. Can you see what God has done for you? There is a song that came to my mind.
Paul in his letter to the Philippians wrote in Chapter 4 and verse 6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"

IS HIV/AIDS REAL?

When looking at HIV/AIDS by race and ethnicity alone, black have more illness (blacks represent 13 per cent of the US population and account for 45 per cent of new HIV infections and 45 per cent of people living with HIV. Statistic show that blacks continue to be disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS. Let's put our faith together to bring change to the African/American community!
